Fear of Flying: Making Flying Less Scary

Fear of FLying is a focus of my practice. I use many of the techniques described in this article. As a pilot and a therapist, I focus on educating the client, in both facts about air travel and Self-Control exercises to enable them to “fight back” the feelings that are the body’s reactions. Exposure techniques give the client a chance to experience the fear and deploy their countermeasures in a safe and controlled environment. I use the lated VRET (virtual reality exposure therapy) to allow the client a chance to gain control and confidence.
